Client Support Specialist, GRS (Toronto, Ontario)

We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic, results-driven individual with highly developed organizational skills to join our Group Retirement (GRS)  team as a Client Support Specialist and general business coordinator.

Reporting to the SVP, Group Retirement Solutions (GRS) and based in our Toronto, Ontario office you will be responsible for providing superior client service and support for the day-to-day management of all new and existing retirement business for People Corporation.  You will also support the SVP with business co-ordination and administration.

This is a front-of-the line support position with responsibility for a variety of tasks including issue investigation and management of escalations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of both plan sponsor and member requests  and the ongoing general administration and maintenance of the documentation regarding activities;
  • Interact with clients and plan members to provide information in response to inquiries about products and services;
  • Support the SVP, GRS including liaising with other regional leaders and strategic resources, coordinating internal leadership team meetings, preparing financial deliverables to executive team, and general business administration;
  • Under limited supervision work with and support GRS consultants to provide service to their clients sponsoring retirement, savings and benefit plans including assisting with:
    • Set-up of new clients, preparing for client meetings, new business meetings, tracking client and prospect data and activity;
    • Ensure clients’ plans are administered in accordance with the rules and legislative guidelines;
    • Manage the service protocol to ensure the team is meeting clients regularly to review their plans (governance, design analysis and changes);
    • Lead, and co-ordinate plan member education meetings and communication materials;
    • Analyze and review of client plan investment performance against industry and client-defined expectations and standards;
    • Monitor insurance carrier performance and prepare market reviews or tenders;
    • Prepare governance documents to be presented to clients at regular review meetings;
    • Accurately file reports and forms with government agencies by legislated deadlines;
    • Participate in industry events, seminars and maintain relevant license accreditation;

Core Qualifications

  • College or University Degree with some experience in the retirement industry
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English is required
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet client and internal needs
  • Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting   and organization skills
  • Client focused with an unwavering commitment for service excellence
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Salesforce or other Client Relationship Management system is an asset
  • Completion of retirement and investment industry courses such as RPA, CEBS, CSC is an asset
