Business Development Consultant (Toronto, ON)

Reporting to the Vice President, Business Solutions, the Business Development Consultant is responsible for growing the portfolio of national Enterprise clients in the large market space. As a front-line sales point, you are responsible for achieving sales results, finding, and qualifying leads, and bringing new business opportunities to close, while contributing to the success of People Corporation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible to grow sales within the assigned geographic area or region, industry or sector, or product group
  • Ensures that prospective client needs and requirements are fully understood and represented
  • Presents, coordinates, and reviews all proposals and finalist materials provided to clients and to potential clients
  • Responsible to work to generate additional group business growth through effective and professional service and support
  • Tracks all sales data and information in a timely manner
  • Ensures all phases and activities of the sales cycle and customer contact information comply with corporate branding, appearance, and content requirements
  • Prepares and delivers on-site presentations to clients and prospective clients

Core Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of group insurance experience specifically with business development experience
  • Valid and current LLQP
  • Post-secondary education and training in commerce, sales & marketing required
  • Thorough knowledge of group insurance, retirement and related product sales and client service and support
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
  • Exceptional sales, business, and financial acumen
  • Track record in successfully meeting sales targets and objectives
  • Strong, innovative sales and marketing skills
  • Exceptional active listening skills and ability to discern prospective pain points and needs
  • Exceptional communication skills demonstrated through compelling sales presentations and client interactions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the projection of a professional image and style
