Benefits Administrator (Winnipeg, MB)

Reporting to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits, we are looking for an experienced, highly organized, detail-oriented Benefits Administrator to join our Corporate Finance team based in our Winnipeg Corporate Office.  The Benefits Administrator will be responsible for administering multiple employee group benefits plans across People Corporation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration of various employee benefit plans including group insurance, pension, and RRSPs
  • Provide sign off and approval of group benefits invoices
  • Upload and submit required employee and employer contributions to carrier sites on a monthly and semi-monthly basis
  • Administer the ESPP program (or replacement) including pre-enrollments, employee changes, terminations, remittance of contributions and employee related inquiries
  • Reconciliation of benefit carrier invoices and preparation of financial allocations
  • Ensure validity of information to support Payroll department by reviewing employee group benefits documentation for accuracy, completeness and approvals
  • Field questions on employee benefits from employees, HR team and management
  • Manage the relationship between benefit carriers and the organization
  • Maintain and update all group benefits information on carrier sites
  • Process all enrolments, changes and terminations to group benefits plans
  • Manage any changes or additions to benefit premium deductions in payroll
  • Respond to all group benefits inquiries in a timely manner
  • Maintain and update the current Benefit Deductions Worksheets and Trackers
  • Onboard and enroll new employees to benefits plans
  • Support leaders in transitioning new acquisitions to People Corporation benefits
  • Provide benefits comparison analysis for those transitioning between Corporate plans

Core Qualifications

  • Experience administering employee benefits plans, including calculating and processing deductions
  • Experience working with finance teams to reconcile and allocate carrier invoices
  • Previous experience utilizing carrier platforms
  • CEBS designation (including those who are working towards designation) is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office tools
